Flagstone (1.25" squares) XPS Foam Sheet

Flagstone textured sheet made from black XPS (extruded polystyrene) high density foam. Each sheet is a 9 x 9 grid of 1.25” (approx. 32mm) squares.

This sheet is made from black, 10mm thick XPS (extruded polystyrene) high density foam. The surface has a realistic flagstone texture impressed onto it. The flagstones have random breaks and divisions that add to the realism and overall the flagstones form a clear 1.25” (approx. 32mm) square grid to make movement and placement of miniatures easy. It's ideal for floorings in historical and fantasy buildings, dungeons etc.

The foam sheet is easy to cut with a sharp craft knife or hot wire cutter. It can be glued using any non-solvent based adhesive including UHU POR, PVA, most wood glues and acrylic ‘instant nails’.

The texture on these sheets is deeply impressed to make painting them very easy. Because of their black base colour only a light dry-brush may be all that is needed. Paint your finished models with water based paints. Acrylic craft paints and household emulsion paint (latex paint in the US) are the best for this job.

IMPORTANT: Most spray can paint will eat into the foam, so do not use it unless it is specifically for use on foam or you have sealed the surface of the foam beforehand with PVA glue or several coats of acrylic varnish.

Giving your model a final coat of acrylic gloss or satin varnish will add an extra layer of durability. This can then be over-painted or sprayed with matt varnish for a more realistic look.
